The Bible struggles with trying to describe the radical change that comes from being a christian - a change that affects all our being. Here is 2 Cor 5:17 the change is described in terms of being made a new creation.

We are made, made anew, new creatures,
for in Christ we are a new creature.
In Him, there is now a new start,
