Love is the new commandment He gave to us,
love is patient, and love is kind,
not rude or selfish.
Love is His way!

Love always trusts, and love will always protect,
always hoping, enduring on,
beyond all failings,
Love never ends!

Lord, forgive when we forget,
to show your love,
and live for self,
or we replace your love,
with petty rules and acts.

Love never fails, and love will not pass away,
it will outlive all other gifts,
even hope and faith:
Lord, teach me to love!
